Pulse Extension — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-27
This policy explains what the Pulse browser extension ("the extension") accesses and sends. The extension is a companion to the Pulse online-asset monitoring service at pulse.xeviora.com. This policy is published at https://pulse.xeviora.com/privacy.
Summary
The extension lets you add an online asset (a domain, website, app-store page, extension-store page, or social profile) shown on the page you're viewing to your own Pulse account, in one click. It acts only when you do. It does not run advertising or analytics, does not sell any data, and does not use third-party trackers. Your browsing history is never collected.
What the extension accesses, and why
The extension requests only the permissions it needs for that single job:
tabs— reads the URL (and title) of the tab you are currently viewing, so the extension can recognize what monitorable asset is on the page and show the correct "Add to monitoring" action. This happens locally in your browser; the URL of a page is not sent anywhere unless you explicitly choose to add that asset.- Host access to
https://pulse.xeviora.com/*— lets the extension talk to the Pulse account API to (1) check whether an asset is already being monitored, and (2) add the asset you selected. These requests carry your Pulse authentication token so the item is saved to your account. - Host access to
http://localhost:3002/*— development only. This lets a Pulse developer point the extension at a local dev server. It is not used in normal operation and connects to nothing on your machine unless such a server is running.
What is transmitted
When — and only when — you click Add to monitoring, the extension sends the following to the Pulse service over HTTPS:
- the identifier of the asset you chose to add (for example a domain name, an app ID, or a social handle) and its type/category;
- your Pulse authentication token, so the asset is attached to your account.
The extension also asks the Pulse service whether an asset is already monitored, so it can show the right button state. Nothing else about your browsing is transmitted. The extension does not send data to any party other than the Pulse service, and does not sell or share your data with third parties.
Data handling by the Pulse service
Assets you add are stored in your Pulse account and processed to provide the monitoring and email-report features you signed up for. The handling of data by the Pulse service itself is governed by the Pulse service privacy policy at https://pulse.xeviora.com/privacy.
Data we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers, no analytics, no third-party tracking.
- No browsing history logging.
- No sale or sharing of personal data.
